Lee’s Summit, Missouri - Bettye “Jane” Wilson West, age 75, passed away peacefully on May 17, 2018 in Lee’s Summit, Missouri.  Jane is survived by her daughter, Sarah West-Effland (Greg), her granddaughters Hannah and Madison Effland, Lee’s Summit, Missouri.  Her son, William W. West (Angela) three grandchildren Meagan Maricle, Kyle Maricle, and Conneach Ian West all of Moses Lake, Washington, and her brother, Walter Hugh Wilson Junior (Belle) of Hamilton, Mississippi.  Jane was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby West, and her parents, Hugh and Evelyn Wilson.  Jane was born on May 21, 1943 in Hamilton, Mississippi where she was raised. She graduated from Hamilton High School in 1961.  Jane was very active in 4-H, an active member of the Hamilton Methodist Church, and was an extremely talented seamstress.  Jane met her husband in Hamilton, Mississippi. She spent two years at MUW and finished her College Degree in Home Economics at University of Southern Mississippi.  Jane and Bob were married almost fifty years.  They were very committed to one another throughout their marriage.  Jane worked as a teacher before she stayed home to raise her children.  In early 1980, she was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis making it very difficult to do the things she had set out to do.  Jane will be remembered  for her beautiful smile, her wisdom, her faith in God despite difficult circumstances, her love for her family and friends, and her always being thankful.  Jane is a member of the Lee’s Summit United Methodist Church and the Daughters of the American Revolution (Prairie Chapter).In Lieu of flowers, the family asks that a donation in her honor be given to the Hamilton United Methodist Church, P. O. Box 309, Hamilton Mississippi, 39746. Tisdale-Lann Memorial Funeral Home in Aberdeen, MS is in charge of the services.

Services will be at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 30, 2018 at Hamilton United Methodist Church in Hamilton, MS with Bro. Roger McGrew officiating.  Burial will be in Hamilton Friendship Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until service time.
