Will always hold dear the wonderful memories of my time there in Beauty School (1966). I was pregnant at the time and will never forget the surprise baby shower they gave for me. Mrs. Vauhn was a very dear special person. I can just see her beautiful self now! Y'all were so lucky to have had her as your mom. My thoughts and prayers are with you at this time.

I am a cousin of Dorothy's thru her Wilson side. I met Dorothy when we moved to Tupelo and I became interested in my family genealogy. WE had a few wonderful visits when she tried to bring me up to date on our mutual family. (My father was Era Arlington Wilson, his father was Alvis Earl Wilson, his was John Arlington Wilson, etc. I am so worry to read about Dorothy's passing. I'm sure you will miss her strong, vibrant personality. And I will miss just knowing I have a cousin right down the road in Aberdeen.

I got to know Mr. and Mrs. Vaughn when I attended beauty school. Those are some very happy memories for me and I grew to care deeply for Mrs. Vaughn. She was a wonderful person with an abundance of patience, a beautiful lady inside and out and she will be missed but never forgotten. She was like a grandma to me! I will never forget the memories that I have us together, liek when Mr. Vaughn and Mrs. Vaughn took me out to lunch, that was very special to me. I love you Ms. Vaughn!!

I want to express my sincere sympathy for the loss of your loved one and I hope the following suggestions help the family members and those who loved Dorothy Vaughn to lessen their grief. Talk about your feelings to a "true companion" who will listen patiently and sympathetically. If you have feelings of guilt thinking that some neglect on your part contributed to your loved one's death, realize though, that no matter how much we love another person, we cannot prevent "time and unforeseen occurrences from befalling those we love (Ecclesiastes 9:11). More than anything else, a relationship with God can help you to cope with the death of someone you love. Isaiah 33:24 promises the time when an end to sickness will become a reality. God will put an end to pain, suffering and even DEATH. God promises at Isaiah 25:8 that death will be swallowed up forever.
