NETTLETON - John A. "Pete"
Seymore, Sr., 78, died Tuesday, Feb. 20th
at Tupelo Nursing and Rehab after an
extended illness. He was born on March 9, 1939
in Monroe County to Sam and Margaratha Schlicht
Seymore. He was a lifelong resident of
Nettleton, a retired farmer and truck driver,
and a member of Calvary Baptist Church. Pete was
also a former Corporal in the MS Army National
Guard. He enjoyed watching old westerns on TV,
going fishing, & being with his family.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at
the Chapel of Tisdale-Lann Memorial Funeral Home
in Nettleton with Bro. Carroll Pettigrew
officiating. Burial will be in Lee Memorial Park
Survivors include one daughter, Tami
McLaughlin of Nettleton; one son, John Allen
Seymore Jr. (Brittany) of Nettleton; three step
daughters, Sharon Harris (Rickey) of Calhoun,
GA, Sheila Wiggington of Nettleton, & Suzette
Bishop (Jeff) of Caledonia; one sister, Nellie
jane Landree of Mansfield, TX; one brother,
Sammy Seymore (Nancy) of Nettleton; 15
grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his first wife,
Martha Russell Seymore; his second wife, Carolyn
Jean Turner Seymore; his parents; one brother,
Herman Seymore; one grandson, Justin Paul
Wiggginton; one aunt, Mable Schlicht.
Pallbearers will be John Allen Seymore, Jr.,
Sammy Seymore, Blake Holley. Turner Seymore,
Jeff Bishop, Nicky Hall.
Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m.
