NETTLETON - Cynthia Faye Birmingham Riley, 93,
passed away Monday, June 4, 2018, at North MS
Medical Center Hospice after an extended
illness. She was born on July 27, 1924 in
Plantersville to William Judson and Mattie
Pettigrew Birmingham. She had lived most all of
her life in Plantersville and Nettleton, was a
seamstress for forty two years at Reed's
Manufacturing in Nettleton, & was a member of
the Nettleton United Methodist Church. Faye was
an exceptional cook, gardener, and fisher woman.
She once caught a 42 pound catfish with only a
homemade float with a spark plug as the weight!
Graveside services will be at 2
p.m. Wednesday at
New Chapel Cemetery. Tisdale-Lann Memorial
Funeral Home in Nettleton will be in charge of
Survivors include her nephews, Leon Cook
(Brenda) of Memphis, TN, Tim Riley (Amy) of
Plantersville, Mem Riley of Nettleton, Steve
Riley (Liz) of Raleigh, NC, Mike Riley (Pelar)
of Madrid, Spain; her nieces, Dianne Riley
Clemmer (Jim) of Greenwood, SC and LeAnn Riley
Weiss (Ed) of Las Vegas, NV; brother-in-law,
Frank Riley of Nettleton; a host of great nieces
and nephews; special friends, Pat Alred and
Tiffany Von Hiltgen Phillips, both of Tupelo, &
Casey Jones of Marietta, GA.
She was preceded in death by her husband,
Clifton Riley; her parents; two sisters, Sadie
Cook and Myra Birmingham; two brothers, William
Birmingham and James Birmingham.
Pallbearers will be Tim Riley, Mem Riley, Alex
Riley, & Leon Cook.
In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to
North MS Medical Center Hospice, 422-A E.
President Ave., Tupelo, MS 38801.
There will be no visitation.
