NETTLETON -   David Earl Ray, 66, passed away Friday, May 25, 2018, at his residence after an extended illness. He was born on October 14, 1951 in Lee County to E.A. "Son" and Mary Alred Ray. He was under Southern Hospice Care. He was a lifelong resident of Nettleton, a carpenter and a mechanic, and was a Baptist. David was proud to be a U.S. Army Veteran, having served in the Vietnam War. He loved trading, being with his family, and his dog "Jack".
  Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the Chapel of Tisdale-Lann Memorial Funeral Home in Nettleton with the Rev. Ron Cottom officiating. Burial will be in New Chapel Cemetery.
  Survivors include one son, Matthew Ray of Fulton; three daughters, Alesha of Hatley & Kim of Houston & Krissi Ray of Plantersville; three sisters, Jean Johnson (Butch) and Betty Tatum (Buddy), all of Nettleton, & Linda Cantrell (Jerry) of Amory; four brothers, Tommy Ray (Janice) of Amory, Leonard Ray (Mary) of Dorsey, Johnny Ray of Florence, AL and Bobby Ray (Pam) of Okolona; ten grandchildren; one great grandchild. 
  He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant daughter, Mary Joyce Ray; one brother, Wayne Ray; & a very special Boston Terrier, "Jack", whom he loved dearly.
  Pallbearers will be Scottie Tackett, Nathan Ray, Thaniel Tackett, Steven Ray, Jessie Ray, & William Pickens.
  Visitation will be Thursday from 5 until 8 p.m. 0 at the funeral home.
