GILBERT MORGAN

ABERDEEN - Gilbert Arthur Morgan,  80, died Thursday, Sept. 14th at his residence in Aberdeen. He was born August 18, 1937 to Emory Alex Morgan Sr . and Clara Adams Morgan in Aberdeen. He was a lifelong resident of Aberdeen and a 1955 graduate of Aberdeen High School.  He retired after twenty four years from the National Guard and retired as contractor supervisor for Vista Chemical. He was a member of First Christian Church of Aberdeen.

Services will be at 2:00 p. m., Sunday, September 17th in the Tisdale-Lann Memorial Chapel with Pastor Adam Pearson officiating. Burial will be in New Hope Cemetery. 

Survivors include his wife, Nina Roberts Morgan of Aberdeen; one daughter, Laura Morgan of
Aberdeen; one son, Keith Morgan (Shelley) of West Point; three step sons, Steve Coker
(Geneva) of Aberdeen, Kenny Coker (Tonya) of Aberdeen, David Coker of Amory, MS; one brother, Joe David Morgan of Aberdeen; thirteen grandchildren, Jonny Haney, Dixie Morgan, Buck Morgan, Corey Gill, Joshua Coker, Drew Coker, Brittany Murphy, Kenneth Coker, Elizabeth Coker, Maggie Coker, Katie Coker, Kasey Coker, Shannan Coker; and a number of great grandchildren. He was preceded  in death by his parents; a sister, Berta Armstrong; two brothers, Emory Alex Morgan, Jr., and Thomas Sidney Morgan.

Pallbearers are Ricky Armstrong, Jerry Roberts, Joshua Coker, Kenneth Coker, Buck Morgan, Corey Gill, Drew Coker, Kasey Coker.

Visitation will be from 4:00 until 6:00 p.m, Saturday, Sep. 16th at the funeral home.

Gilbert Morgan was a great guy. I served in the National Guard with him for five years and also knew him socially out side of the Guard. He was an all around good guy and will be missed by all who knew him.
