AMORY -   Floyd Dexter Kennedy, 70, passed away Thursday, November 30, 2017, at his residence after an extended illness.
  He was born on September 20, 1947 in Tupelo to Archie and Artie Hollis Kennedy. He was a lifelong resident of Monroe County, a retired carpenter and former deputy sheriff for Monroe County, and was a Baptist. He enjoyed going coon hunting, fishing, camping, & being with his family. 
  Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Kennedy Haven Fellowship Hall in Amory with the Rev. Byron Kennedy and the Rev. Ricky Jones officiating. Burial will be in Kennedy Haven Cemetery. Tisdale-Lann Memorial Funeral Home in Nettleton will be in charge of the arrangements.
  Survivors include his lifelong loving partner & wife, Martha Louise Burroughs Kennedy of Amory; two daughters, Evelyn McCullough (James) of Amory and Deri Red (Allen) of Bigbee; three sons, Stevie Kennedy and Ronnie Kennedy, both of Amory, Byron Kennedy (Jona) of Lackey; one brother, Dwight Kennedy (Susan) of Bigbee; ten grandchildren, Andrew Kennedy (Liz), Katie Hancock (Brandon), Bridgett Roberts, Brandon Cunningham, Tori Holliman, Tessie Stone (Tyler), Terry Brown (Chelsea), Tanner Kennedy, Kaven McCullough, Kain Kennedy; twelve great grandchildren.
  He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Nancy Kennedy and Betty Seymore; three brothers, Leasel, Albert, & Thomas Kennedy.
  Pallbearers will be members of the Monroe County Sheriff's Department.
  Visitation will be 5 until 8 p.m. Friday, continuing Saturday from 10 a.m. until time for services, at the church.
