JOHN D. HATLEY

NETTLETON -   John Daniel Hatley, 87, passed away on Saturday, January 6, 2018, at his residence after an extended illness. He was born February 1, 1930 in Lee County to John William and Elvis Guyton Hatley. He was a lifelong resident of Monroe County, former business owner, a man of strong Christian faith and a member of the Church of God of Prophecy for 38 years. J.D. was also a former constable in Monroe County, Police Chief for the City of Nettleton, and a Wal- Mart associate in Tupelo. He enjoyed trading tractors, fixing lawn mowers, working in his yard and garden, & being with his family.
  Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the Chapel of Tisdale-Lann Memorial Funeral Home in Nettleton with the Rev. Joel Brooks and  Minister Margaret Browning officiating. Burial will be in McDuffie Cemetery in Hamilton. 
  Survivors include his wife, Marcia Helen Medley Hatley of Nettleton; one daughter, Patricia Worthey (Jesse) of Wren; Philip Hatley (Alice) of Petal; one sister, Naomie Riley of Nettleton; three grandchildren, Michael Worthey, Ashley Purvis & Bethany Bynum (Austin); four great grandchildren, Jennalyn, Jared, & Jace Purvis, Blaine Bynum; several nieces and nephews.
  He was preceded in death by three sisters, Rena Harmon, Lola Mae Hatley, & Inez Elliott; three brothers, William "Buddy", Lester, & Wilburn Hatley.
  Pallbearers will be Danny Riley, Kenny Adams, Wayne Harlow, Ray Conwill, Doug Brown, Johnny Perkins.
  Visitation will be Monday from 10 a.m. until time for services, at the funeral home.
