RUBY BRAND

ABERDEEN - Ruby Lee Sims Brand,  81, died Monday, September 11, 2017 at
Pioneer Community Hospital in Aberdeen. She was born in Indianola, MS, January 22, 1936
to Mr. Floyd Sims and Mrs. Jettie Mae Putnam Sims. After graduating high school, she attended beauty school to become a hair dresser. Her career had just just begun but became part-time having and raising four boys.

In 1959, she married the late William Louis Brand of Montpelier, MS. He passed away nearly four
years before her. He worked at Aberdeen Big Star for thirty two years. During that time, she had
also worked there parttime. They had been together fifty four years. After his death, she and her sister
continued to live at their home for two and a half years.

Issues with her health declining, she went to Garden Suites Assisted Living. It had become her
second home away from home and she loved it there. While at Assisted Living, she enjoyed
activities such as bingo, bean bag toss, getting her nails done, and colored pencil art. Bingo was her
favorite.

Services will be at 1:00 p. m., Thursday, September 14, 2017 in the Tisdale-Lann Memorial Chapel
i n Aberdeen with Rev. Mary Hutson, Bro. Roger Collins, and Pastor Rick Burton officiating.
Burial will be at Memorial Gardens in West Point.

Survivors include four sons, Bill Brand (Sandra) of Wren, MS, Allen Brand (Joyce) of Aberdeen, MS , Kevin Brand (Lillie) o f Aberdeen, MS, and Roger Brand (Dianna) of New Bern, NC; seven
grandchildren; four great   grandchildren; one brother; two sisters and her many special friends at assisted living.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William Louis Brand; one grandchild; one
great grandchild; two sisters; and four brothers.

Visitation will be from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m., Wednesday , September 13, 2017 at TisdaleLann
Memorial Funeral Home in Aberdeen.
