Boyce Bethay, 82, passed away suddenly, Wednesday, August 2,
2017, at his residence. He was born on October 12, 1934 in
Nettleton to Bunyan Issac and Clovis Augusta Stone Bethay. He
was a lifelong resident of Nettleton, was a truck driver, and a
member of the Nettleton First United Methodist Church. Shelly
graduated from Nettleton High School in 1953 and was a Airman
First Class in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. He
enjoyed gardening, going to church, was a avid Ole Miss Sports
fan, and being with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Services will be at 11
a.m. Saturday at
the Nettleton First United Methodist Church with Bro. Cecil
Locke and Bro. Tommy Monts officiating. Burial will be in Gray's
Cemetery. Tisdale-Lann Memorial Funeral Home in Nettleton will
be in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Geraldine Yvonne
Schumpert Bethay of Nettleton; one daughter, Marcia Elizabeth
Moore (Wayne) of Amory; one son, Daniel Lee Bethay (Tina) of
Fulton; seven grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews
and great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter; one
granddaughter, Savannah Leigh Moore; one sister, Gloria Hodges;
three brothers, Forrest Bethay, Sr., Maylon Bethay, & Jennings
Bethay; one niece, Sandra Bethay Tourelle.
Pallbearers will be Joe David Schumpert, Stan Hussey, Larry
Schumpert, Chip Hussey, Matthew Bethay, David Bethay, William
Bethay, Gunner Hall.
Honorary pallbearers will be the Lively Hearts Class of the
Nettleton First United Methodist Church.
Memorials may be made to Gray's Cemetery, c/o James Gibson,
656 Road 1463, Nettleton, MS 38858.
Visitation will be Friday from 5 until 8 p.m.
at the church.
